Mabel Porbley is a seasoned insurance and financial services executive with over 26 years of experience across all four sectors of the insurance spectrum: life, general, health, and pensions.
Mabel currently serves as CEO and Managing Director of SanlamAllianz General Insurance Ghana, part of the largest pan-African non-banking financial services group operating across 27 countries on the continent. She previously served as Managing Director of NSIA Insurance Ghana, where she inherited a company with a decade of consistent losses and steered it into profitability. She also led the restructuring of Saham Insurance, successfully rebranding it as Sanlam General Insurance and propelling it into the industry's top ten.
Earlier in her career, she was instrumental in scaling Momentum Health Ghana to become the nation's second-largest health insurer, and at the Metropolitan Group she managed high-pressure mergers and founded the Metropolitan Pensions Trust.
She has served two terms as second Vice President of the Ghana Insurers Association and was named Insurance Personality of the Year at the Women in Banking and Finance Awards in 2017. Mabel is a Chartered Insurer from the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK and holds an Executive MBA from GIMPA and a BA in Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast.
